Kids are back to school, summer is over and we can get back to our normal routines. Now is a better time than ever to get started in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu!

A normal class runs like this. We start with warm up, running, jumping jacks, a variety of excersizes to get the blood flowing. We then go into our floor drills. The floor drills are isolated Jiu Jitsu movements that we do to create coordination, core strengthening and muscle memory.

After this we continue with our specialiazed training to create balance, more strengthening, and explosiveness. Once we are through with this we begin our technique. We will demonstrate a technique, then train repititions of this movement. We teach not just the movement but also how and when to apply it, the strategy behind it. After this we finish class with live training where we use the technique in a simulated sparring situation where the kids are then required to repeat this technique and others learned out of order and in different situations to help with there long term retention and it’s fun!
